Dr. Elaine Hewitt is a Tenured Senior Associate Professor at the Department of English and German (University of Granada, Spain). She has 34 years experience of teaching language and linguistics with 10 of these years at the British Council as a teacher and teacher trainer. She graduated with honours in 1983 off the Bachelor’s Degree of English Studies from Manchester Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. She received her Ph.D., - for which she won a prize, from Granada University in 1997. She is herself the director of various research projects. She has supervised other Ph.D. candidates who have successfully defended their theses. Dr. Hewitt was the Coordinator of her department’s Master’s and Doctoral Programmes for 4 years, establishing its Master’s degree and obtaining for it a quality certificate or mention from the Spanish Ministry of Education. She has published international research articles in prestigious journals such as Educational Psychology, Perspectives Journal: Studies in Translatology, The International Journal of Literacies and also the Modern Language Journal, amongst others.
